Deactivation:

• Deactivating  account means you are making your Facebook  account inactive. In this process your Facebook time line is not visible to others, however messages you send are still visible. 
• you can call deactivating your account as deleting your account temporary.
• you can find deactivate URL in  your Facebook account by going into account settings and then you will find security on left corner as shown in picture below.

• deactivating account helps again regain access to your account by just logging in.

Delete:

• in order to delete your facebook account permanently, you should request it in the help center of facebook. 
• once you search for "deleting fb account permanently" in the help center, you get the result "How do I permanently delete my account?"
• follow the instructions.

• Don't log in into Facebook  for 2 weeks if you really want to delete your Facebook account.
